François Piquet

identity tremors

Saint Louis, Marie Galante.png

François Piquet lives in a two-level kaz in the town of Sainte-Anne. He arrived in Guadeloupe for the beautiful eyes of his wife 20 years ago, and now feels at home here. His gradual integration into our community has greatly modified his way of seeing the world. To the point of making him a committed artist.

"I became an artist when I was 40, at an event at the Darboussier Factory. When I saw all these rusty metal rods, in this place loaded with memory, I tried to weave them for the first time. And everything else followed."

Reflection on identity, reinterpretation of classical codes, irreverence
