An exhibit curated for Serene Up, featuring works by Alain Joséphine and Alice-Anne Augustin

Curatorial Intent
I’ve known Claire Montesinos for years through her involvement with the Village by CA startup incubator. But it wasn’t until we discussed this exhibition at the Serene Network offices that I truly grasped the extent of her work promoting investment in Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Réunion. Claire is a business leader passionate about innovation and regional development. But above all, she is a tireless worker, always willing to spend a few extra hours on a project, always ready to take a meeting during her lunch break, or to review a presentation at the end of the day. Ultimately, Claire is someone who builds connections. Tirelessly, she connects project leaders with funders, complementary expertise, and potential partners… which inspired me to try a unique artist collaboration at La Maison Gaston: Alice-Anne Augustin and Alain Joséphine.
Innovation. Work. Connections.

The artists
Alain Joséphine was born in 1968 in Fort de France, Martinique, and is based in Guadeloupe. He holds a diploma in Fine Arts from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Décoratifs in Bordeaux, and passed the CAPES external d'Arts Plastiques exam at the IUFM in Martinique.
Already recognized locally, Alain Joséphine is now represented in London by the TAFETA gallery. He has exhibited in Paris, London, Dallas and New Delhi.

Born in 1988, Alice-Anne Augustin lives and works in Guadeloupe.
A graduate of the University of Bordeaux III with a degree in Fine Arts, she employs a fluid art technique. Colors spread across the canvas, revealing landscapes that appear almost natural—resembling aerial photographs of territories, oceanic reliefs, mineral, cellular, or sometimes cosmic canvases… deeply rooted in abstraction.
The inspiration
Creole art is the expression of an extraordinary lived experience: it draws on a variety of influences, transforms ideas into original creations, and gives rise to works that tell a story. Each work is a process of reflection, imagination, and technical mastery.
Software development follows a similar logic. The developer is a creator who shapes digital solutions from ideas, business needs, and technical constraints. Just as an artist chooses colors, materials, and forms to bring their vision to life, the developer selects technologies, designs architectures, and assembles features to create powerful, intuitive, and useful tools.
Serene Up combines this intellectual creativity with the power of artificial intelligence. AI does not replace the developer, just as a paintbrush does not replace the artist. It acts as a catalyst for creation, enabling developers to explore ideas more quickly, automate certain repetitive tasks, and devote more time to what truly drives a project’s value: innovation, strategic thinking, and understanding user needs.
